About Joseph Franco III our President

Joseph Franco III is the fourth generation great grandson of Mariano Franco. Mariano was an Italian immigrant from the town of Calascibetta, Sicily and became a citizen of the United States with his wife Louisa Alloro-Franco when they arrived to Ellis Island, New York in 1910. The family lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey before settling in Baltimore, MD. Mariano worked for the Baltimore City Dept of Public Works for many years. Joseph Franco Sr. (Joe’s grandfather) started working at the age of twelve during the Great Depression as he would go from house to house repairing masonry steps and window sills, helping to support his family during the most difficult of times. On most days Joe Sr. would work twelve to fourteen hours from sunup to sundown. He eventually started a successful masonry business in Baltimore and had over one hundred employees building schools and various projects. Joseph Franco Jr. (Joe’s father) was a successful home builder and commercial general contractor in Baltimore . This is where Joe was taught the importance of hard work, honesty and integrity to last a lifetime. Joe III started his career working in the family business after graduating from Randallstown High School in 1977 and while attending Catonsville Community College Construction Management Program in the evenings.  He worked his way up in the family business where he was involved in and around construction. He started as a laborer on the bricklaying and concrete crews and as a carpenter where he would learn the trade first hand, eventually to become a superintendent, chief estimator and construction owner. In 1996 he started Franco Construction Services, Inc., an established full service interior general contracting firm servicing the Mid-Atlantic region.

Joe serves as the Trustee Chairman at his church, and Franco Construction supports various Christian Ministries including The Helping Up Mission www.helpingupmission.org, In Touch Ministries www.intouch.org, Samaritan's Purse www.samaritanspurse.orgJewish Voice Messianic Ministries www.jewishvoice.org, and many others. When Joe is not working or serving, you can usually find him on the soccer field with his wife Donna and two very active young sons.
